Solar panels are silent, low-maintenance and environment friendly source of electric power for charging battery systems on boats, caravans and in remote buildings. Panels pay for themselves in about five years if they save the use of a generator or engine for battery charging.

We also supply and install batteries, sine-wave inverters and other parts for reliable and economic off-grid power.

How many do you need? One 62 Watt panel will run lights, radio and boat's water pump for six months of the year, get another if you have a tv or laptop habit and a third if you have an electric fridge...and a few more for larger households or if you want to live from Solar power over the winter.

And you also need a regulator to prevent your battery from overcharging. Steca regulators have a digital meter to display amps, volts, battery state and amp-hours - PR1515 for up to 210 Watts is £80 or a PR3030 for up to 420 Watts is £110. Or use a simple one-panel regulator , a PR6 for £20.
